Whether enjoyed plain or with a splash of milk, Chinese Black tea delivers a satisfying and comforting experience with every sip.

About Yunnan Black tea, Dian Hong(滇红)

This tea box contains 12pcs with 4-6grams per pc, total 50 grams.

Dian Hong's hometown, Fengqing County is located in the southwest of Yunnan Province, with an average annual temperature of 16.7°C. This temperature climate is very suitable for the growth of tea trees, including many ancient tea trees with an age of over 1000 years. The tea tree resources in Fengqing are vertically distributed in high-altitude zones ranging from 1600 meters to 2200 meters, with red soil in the tea gardens, high organic matter content, and rich nutrients. The geographical advantages of red soil, large altitude differences, and the passing of the Lancang River have created a unique environment for tea tree growth, giving rise to the charming flavor and outstanding quality of Dian Hong tea.

Since the birth of Dian Hong tea in 1939, generation after generation of tea artisans here have always adhered to tradition, devoted themselves to craftsmanship, and created one legend after another. In 1957, Dian Hong tea won the championship in a national tea competition. Starting from 1959, Dian Hong tea was designated as the official diplomatic gift tea of the country. In 1985, Dian Hong tea won the gold medal at the Madrid International Fair in Spain. In 1986, during the visit of Queen Elizabeth II to Kunming, the Governor of Yunnan Province presented a box of Dian Hong Supreme Gongfu Tea as a national gift to Her Majesty the Queen. In 2014, the craftsmanship of Dian Hong tea production was selected as a representative project of China's intangible cultural heritage.

Today, with nearly a century of history, Dian Hong tea has successfully created over 100 series of products such as "Golden Bud," "Chinese Red," "Classic 58," and "Dian Hong Gongfu Tea," which are deeply loved and favored by tea enthusiasts from all over the world.

In 2022, the craftsmanship of Dian Hong tea production was successfully listed in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, marking another milestone in its illustrious history.

More Black Tea brewing tips:

Here are some simple tips to ensure you brew the perfect cup every time:

  1. Start with Quality Tea: Choose high-quality Chinese Black tea leaves for the best taste experience. Look for loose-leaf tea with intact leaves and a rich, inviting aroma.

  2. Water Temperature: Heat fresh, filtered water to a rolling boil. Once boiled, let it cool for a moment before pouring it over your tea leaves. For Chinese Black tea, water temperatures between 200-212°F (93-100°C) work best.

  3. Tea-to-Water Ratio: Use about 1 teaspoon of tea leaves per 8 ounces (240ml) of water. Adjust the amount based on your desired strength of flavor.

  4. Steeping Time: The steeping time depends on your preference and the specific type of Chinese Black tea you're brewing. Generally, steep the tea for 3-5 minutes. Feel free to experiment with shorter or longer steeping times to find your perfect balance.

  5. Brewing Method: Use a teapot, infuser, or brewing vessel of your choice. If using a teapot, preheat it by rinsing with hot water before adding the tea leaves and water. This helps maintain the temperature and enhances flavor extraction.

  6. Enjoy Multiple Infusions: Chinese Black tea can often be steeped multiple times, revealing different flavor profiles with each infusion. Try increasing the steeping time slightly for subsequent infusions to extract new layers of flavor.

  7. Appreciate the Aroma: Take a moment to savor the wonderful aroma of your freshly brewed tea before taking a sip. Inhale deeply and let the fragrance transport you to the tea's place of origin.

  8. Sip and Enjoy: Finally, take a sip of your brewed Chinese Black tea and savor its robust flavor and comforting warmth. Allow the tea to linger on your palate, noticing its complexity and depth of character with each sip.

  9. Don't forget to select a teapot and tea pet to spend the best tea time with you!
